Estimate only. It assumes no new spending, an on-time fixed payment, and that the listed APRs apply. Review the issuer's balance-transfer terms, credit limit, deferred-interest rules, and payment requirements.
How this comparison works
The transfer plan begins with your balance plus the transfer fee. It applies the promotional APR for the months you enter, then the post-promotion APR to any remaining balance. Both plans use the same fixed monthly payment.
Before transferring a balance
A lower introductory APR can help only when it outweighs the fee and you have a realistic payoff plan. If the promotional period ends before the balance is paid, the standard APR can apply to the remainder. Read our balance transfer guide for a decision checklist.
FAQ
How do I know if a balance transfer is worth it?
Compare the fee, promotion length, rate after the offer, and your expected monthly payment—not just the 0% headline rate.
What if I cannot clear the balance during the promotion?
The tool includes the APR after the promotion so you can see the effect of a remaining balance. You can also compare several cards with the debt payoff planner.
